About MEMy name is Shivom Paudel and I run a lot. I am currently a senior in High School and I run cross country and track. My life revolves around running. I am starting this blog on running as a way for me to keep track and remember my cross country season. I began running my freshman year of high school, so I am entering my fourth year and seventh season as a runner. I am looking forward to this cross country season as it begins and can not wait to share my experience with you. Why I chose Running?I did not always run, when I was younger from ages fives to fifteen I played basketball and baseball like every other kid. I loved competing in team sports and I hated losing. Though as I grew older I started getting bored with basketball and decided that eighth grade year of school basketball would be my last year. I had to find another sport to compete in because I knew if I continued to only play baseball I would burn out and get bored just as I had with basketball. One day in PE class of eighth grade after running the mile my teacher told me I should try running cross country next fall for the High School team. At first I did not want any part of running. Throughout middle school I thought that nonathletic and uncoordinated kids ran cross country. Weeks went by and the thought of running still had not crossed my mind once. Then my older brother had decided he was going to join cross country next year as a junior and it would be his first season as well. I instantly loved the idea of running cross country as a freshman because my brother had always been better than me at sports and clearly it was due to him having more experience and being older than me. This was finally my chance to prove I was a better athlete than him because it was a new sport and neither of us had any prior experience. To conclude why I chose to run it is truly because I would get to compete with my bother at a level playing field, other than age and I loved to compete. I am thankful for my choice to run because running is a very important part of my life now and I don't know what I would do without it. I loved running so much after my first season of cross country I decided to quit baseball and run track in the spring. Coming Soon...
