The boys finished tenth as a team following the lead of me, who finished thirty-ninth in a time of 16:59. The boys one-to-five split was twenty seconds. Palatine InvitationalThe same week the girls traveled to Palatine to compete at the Palatine Invitational. The girls placed fifteenth following the lead of Macy Priess, who finished nineteenth in a time of 18:09. The girls one-to-five split was one minute and forty-nine seconds. The girls competed well, the Palatine Invitational is very competitive. Running Red InvitationalThe next week, Eagles Cross Country competed at the Running Red Invitational in Metamora. The boys finished eleventh following the lead of Max Varness, who finished thirty-sixth in a time of 16:41. The boys one-to-five split was fifty seconds. The boys competed well considering I, one of the top runners was missing due to an injury. Lincoln Metzger slipped and fell three times during his race due to the muddy course and stormy weather. The girls finished eighth as a team without their lead runner Macy Priess, who was missing due to an injury. They were also missing Sierra Cenek another top runner, who plays a big roll in scoring for their team. Abby Banister lead the girls finishing eighteenth in a time of 18:46. The girls one-to-five split was two minutes and thirty-six seconds. ConferenceIn the final week of the regular season Eagles Cross Country competed at the Mid- Illini Conference meet in Peoria. The boys finished fifth following the lead of Max Varness, who placed seventeenth in a time of 16:32. Their one-to-five split was fifty-six seconds. I was injured for this meet as well. Eli Blascyk finishing the race followed by JT. The girls won the meet following the lead of Macy Priess, who finished fifth in a time of 18:18. Their one-to-five split was one minute and nine seconds. The girls have won the conference meet eight years in a row.
